Summer in Paris: beaches, cinema and Versailles

Paris has a wonderful programme of events ready for you this summer. If you plan a trip during the months of July, August or September, you’ll have opportunities to take part in various activities organised by the city. In addition to the urban beach event called Paris Plages, there will be open-air cinema festivals and the spectacle and enchantment of the Night Fountains Show in the grounds of the Palace of Versailles.

A summer at the beach and in the midst of the Grandes Eaux

Each year beach lovers count the days until the start of Paris Plages, the annual beach culture event that takes place along the Seine. From July 20th to August 21st a true seaside vibe will be felt in the midst of the capital, providing unforgettable moments and beaches full of fun. To enjoy this summer adventure and the benefits of close proximity to all that it offers, it’s advisable to choose a hotel situated right in the heart of Paris, such as the Relais du Marais. Outdoor film festivals; Plein Air and Clair de Lune

During your time as a guest of our hotel this summer, you will also have the opportunity to attend some great open air movie festivals. Two free events are scheduled for the coming weeks and the choice is yours: do you opt for Cinéma en Plein Air, or Cinéma au Clair de Lune? Or why not treat yourself to both? Plein Air takes place from July 13th to August 21st, and offers moviegoers a carefully selected mix of classic films from notable directors and some of the most exciting recent releases. Settle yourself in a deckchair or on a blanket spread on the grass with your loved one, your family or friends, and partake of the cinematic delights offered by this 26th edition of the hugely popular festival.

Meanwhile, July 29th to August 14th brings us the 16th edition of Cinéma au Clair de Lune, organised by the Forum des Images. The programme for this moonlit film fest will, as always, be eclectic and well-chosen. The locations for screenings will be the Pelouse de Reuilly, the Place des Vosges, the Parc Montsouris and the Place des Fêtes. While you wait for the movie magic to begin at 21:30, you can relax in comfort in your Hotel Relais du Marais.
